Prof. Dr., Fridon Todua deputy chairman of the Georgian parliament, chief of Georgia-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, together with his delegation, including members of Azerbaijan Parliament, visited Odlar Yurdu University.
The Honorary Diploma presentation ceremony was held in the conference hall. Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Valiyev opened the presentation ceremony and greeted the guests.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Valiyev stressed that Georgia is a friendly country for Azerbaijan and the sides are close partners. The two countries share common positions within international organizations and it is a result of the strategic partnership policy carried out by the Heads of State. Valiyev spoke of the history of the cooperation between the parties and stressed importance of the joint efforts towards solution of the occupation and refugee problems.
In turn, Todua said he visited Baku two years ago and witnessed great development during this period. He underscored that Azerbaijan is a close friend of Georgian nation and expressed assurance that the two countries would restore territorial integrity as soon as possible.
Thereafter, Dr. Fridon Todua has been awarded a title of “Honorable Doctor” with corresponding Diploma of Odlar Yurdu University following the decision of the Academic Council of the University for his Outstanding Activities in the field of science and education.
