Born in 1946, Ahmad Valiyev has graduated from the Department of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Baku State University in Baku in 1970. Since then, he has been working in various fields of educational system in Azerbaijan.
In 1990-1997, Ahmad Valiyev was leading the Baku Industrial Pedagogical College. In 1995, Ahmad Valiyev founded the Odlar Yurdu University.
Ahmad Valiyev is an author of about 50 scientific publications, 1 scientific monograph, 7 textbooks.
Ahmad Valiyev is also an author of Personification of Sagacity, a book dedicated to Ilham Aliyev, prominent Azeri statesman. This book was published in Azeri (both in Roman and Arabic alphabet) and in English.
Ahmad Valiyev has been awarded a scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in physics and mathematics by the International Informatization Academy.
Ahmad Valiyev is a member of the American Mathematical Society.
Ahmad Valiyev is a member of New York Academy of Science and Russian Academy of Social and Pedagogical Sciences.
Today, Ahmad Valiyev is a Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Odlar Yurdu University, head of the chair of Mathematics and General Technical Sciences in OYU.
The official ceremony, dedicated to the opening of the memorial bust of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev in OYU, has been held in the university on May 12, 2004.
Personification of Sagacity, a book written by the rector of Odlar Yurdu University Ahmad Valiyev, was published in Azeri using Latin alphabet in early 2002, while its English translation was released in September 2003. 
In 2002, OYU was awarded a Gold Medal by the French Academy of Assistance for Economy.
