16.06.2010 ODLAR YUDY UNIVERSITY HAS JOINED THE TEMPUS PROGRAM (TRANS EUROPEAN MOBILITY PLAN FOR UNIVERSITY STUDIES), THE FOURTH PROJECT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION.
According to this program, during 2009-2011, a Network of International Relations Offices must be established in Azerbaijan, as part of a project developed by the European Commission for the South Caucasus. Along with Odlar Yurdu University, several local universities and the below-listed 5 universities from Europe participate in the project: ITALY - Genoa University Germany – Siegen University FRANCE - Nice-Sophia Antipolis University Poland - Bydgoszcz University Of Technology And Life Sciences Greece - National Technical University of Athens The project’s host in Europe is Genoa University of Italy. The primary goal of this project is to set up a new format of International Relations Office in OYU and several other local universities. The main goal at the next stage is to implement an exchange of teachers and students between OYU and European universities. According to the drawn work plan, organizational works are being carried out at the moment, and this process is due to be completed in February 2011. With the help of the International Relations Office, OYU will get access to the international arena, video-conferences will be organized, internet accesses will be established via computers, and direct contacts will be made with European universities. Wishes of those, who would like to study either at European universities or at Odlar Yurdu University, will be studied. Highly qualified specialists will be trained in order to materialize this wish. For the project, which is being implemented under the supervision of Genoa University, with the funds, allocated by the European Commission, a conference hall and an office, equipped with modern equipment, have been organized and handed over for use to get a distant education at the university. On June 16th, 2010, the updated International Relations Office was officially opened. Representatives from Genoa University of Italy and Bydgoszcz University Of Technology And Life Sciences from Poland attended the opening ceremony.
