November 10th, 1995: The State High Expert Commission inspected Odlar Yurdu University and gave its approval.

July 8th, 1996: Based on the approval of the State High Expert Commission, Odlar Yurdu University passed the state registration under Resolution No. 86 of the Cabinet of Ministers.

October 16th, 1996: Odlar Yurdu University got a legal entity status of the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Republic.

June 3rd, 1997: Odlar Yurdu University and Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business signed a cooperation agreement; June 19th, 2002 - Odlar Yurdu University and Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in the sphere of scientific and education programs; April 2nd, 2004 - Odlar Yurdu University and Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business signed an agreement about a joint BBA and MBA program, and since 2005, admission of students to the BBA and MBA programs started in OYU.

November 27th, 1998: The University got a permission (license) of the Ministry of Press and Information of the Azerbaijan Republic to carry out printing activity.

February 10th, 1999: The University got a permission (license) of the Ministry of Press and Information of the Azerbaijan Republic to print out and distribute the “Scientific and Pedagogical News of Odlar Yurdu University” journal. Higher Attestation Commission under President of Azerbaijan Republic has included this journal in the list of publications recognized by that organization for the publication of scientific articles on the following sciences: Mathematics and Mechanics, Economics, Law (Jurisprudence), History and Politology, Pedagogy, Philology. The journal is reviewed and read at the All-Russia Institute of Scientific and Technical Information - VINITI (№ 10211-5335/54-34).

February 10th, 1999: The University got a permission (license) of the Ministry of Press and Information of the Azerbaijan Republic to print out and distribute the “Odlar Yurdu University” newspaper.

June 12th, 1999: By License No 019004, AB series, issued by the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, the university got a permission (license) to carry out the training of students at a bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and at the same time, to start the functioning of a Secondary Vocational Education College and a Secondary General Education Innovations School at the university.

Since 2002, Odlar Yurdu University has joined the International Universities Association as a full member.

February 14th, 2003: By Approval No 46-03-662/17 of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, the university got a permission (license) to engage with a joint training of students on a master’s degree in “Business administration” together with Georgia University of the USA.

2003: Odlar Yurdu University signed a cooperation agreement with Siegen University (Germany) on conducting joint scientific researches.

2003: Odlar Yurdu University signed an agreement with Siegen University (Germany) to train specialists on a Bachelor’s level majoring in the field of Advanced Technologies.

2003: Within the framework of a bilateral cooperation agreement signed between Odlar Yurdu University and Siegen University, was signed an agreement on the organization of preparatory courses to obtain a DSH certificate in the German language. Students, who successfully complete the nine-month intensive German language courses, receive a DSH Language Certificate. Students are able to continue their studies in German-speaking universities on the base of DSH Language Certificates.

2003: Odlar Yurdu University signed a bilateral cooperation agreement with Ege University (Turkey) on training specialists in the fields of science and education.

October 29th, 2003: By Approval No 46-03-4911/17 of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, a preparatory faculty was formed at OYU in order to help foreign students.

August 2nd, 2004: By Approval No 685 of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, the University got a permission (license) to train students as PhDs and candidates of sciences.

Since 2004, OYU has had the German accreditation status H + of the German higher education system, which means the recognition of the university diplomas in Germany.

Since 2004, a newly developed multi-purpose clinic-hospital "Oksigen" has been functioning as a part of the University, and where are located the most departments of the Medical School/Faculty of OYU. Equipped with the latest medical technology, this clinic serves for practical training of OYU medical students.

July 25th, 2005: By Order No 593 of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, the term of validity of the permissions (licenses) issued to Odlar Yurdu University, and also the Secondary Vocational Education College and Secondary General Education Innovations School, functioning at the university, were extended.

2005: Baku British School began functioning at the University.

June 14th, 2006: By Order No 474 of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, based on a relevant resolution of the accreditation commission of the Azerbaijan Republic, an accreditation and a certificate were issued to Odlar Yurdu University and the educational institutions opened under its auspices.

2007: With the support and supervision of the Culture and Cooperation section of the French Embassy in Azerbaijan, Odlar Yurdu University signed an agreement with George Sand Cultural Center of France to organize preparatory courses for TCF certificate and DELF/DALF diploma in the French language.

November 20th, 2007: A cooperation agreement was signed with the Caucasus International University (Republic of Georgia, Tbilisi). The object of the agreement is to establish bilateral cooperation relations in all spheres of educational and scientific-practical activities.

In 2009, Odlar Yurdu University joined the TEMPUS program (Trans European Mobility Plan for University Studies), which is the fourth project of the European Commission. During 2009-2011, it took part in the organization of a network of international relations offices in Azerbaijan, a project developed by the European Commission for the South Caucasus. Along with Odlar Yurdu University, the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, the Azerbaijan Medical University, Qafqaz (Caucasus) University, and also the below-listed leading universities from Europe participate in this program: GERMANY - Siegen University; FRANCE - Nice-Sophia Antipolis University; ITALY – Genoa University; POLAND - Bydgoszcz University of Life Science and GREECE - National Technical University of Athens.

May 25th, 2010: Riga International University of Economics and Business Administration and Odlar Yurdu University signed an agreement on cooperation in the spheres of science and education, as well as development of student-teacher exchanges.

June 26th, 2010: A scientific cooperation agreement was signed with Genoa University (Italy). The object of the agreement is to strengthen relations between the universities, to expand bilateral cultural links, to cooperate and exchange in the sphere of education.

August 27th, 2010: A scientific cooperation agreement was signed with the Near East University (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). The main object of the agreement is to train specialists majoring in the fields of science and education at both of the universities.

September 23rd, 2010: Within the framework of cooperation between Odlar Yurdu University and Suleyman Demirel University (Turkey), a bilateral agreement was signed to reorganization a Medical Faculty/School at OYU on the base of Turkish standards.

October 27th, 2010: The Ministry of Education extended the license of the university for the next term of 5 years.

November 11th, 2010: A scientific cooperation agreement was signed with Nice-Sophia Antipolis University (France). The object of the agreement is to strengthen relations between the universities, to expand bilateral cultural links, to cooperate and exchange in the sphere of education.

November 24th, 2010: An agreement was signed with Bidgosh University of Technology and Life Sciences (Poland) on conducting researches, training specialists, improvement of professional skills, exchange of students and teachers, implementation of various international projects.

October 21st, 2011: Odlar Yurdu University was recognized by the Higher Education Council (YOK), Turkey.

October 26th, 2011: Odlar Yurdu University and Azerbaijan Bank Training Center signed a cooperation agreement on strategic partnership.

2011-2014: Odlar Yurdu University has been participating in the Tempus program titled: DOCUMENTATION FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE OF STUDY PROGRAMS.

April 2nd, 2012: A protocol of understanding was signed with Haceteppe University (Turkey). The object of the protocol is to implement exchanges of curricula, teachers and students, joint teaching activities, participation in business incubator and technopark projects together.

2012: A cooperation agreement was signed between Bibliotheca Alexandria (Republic of Egypt) and OYU.

Since 2012, Medical School/Faculty of Odlar Yurdu University has been recognized by FAIMER (Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research, USA

July 13th, 2012: Odlar Yurdu University received its next accreditation from the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic.

In 2013, a cooperation agreement was signed between David Game College (London, UK) and OYU.

May 17th, 2013: Odlar Yurdu University and Suleyman Demirel University signed a new expanded bilateral cooperation agreement.

May 21st, 2013: Odlar Yurdu University was elected as a member of the Caucasus University Association and became a member of Mevlana Exchange Program, which envisages further development perspective of the Caucasus University Association and collaboration between the members of this Association.

May 24th 2013: A cooperation agreement was signed between Giresun University (Turkey) and OYU.

May 31st, 2013: Odlar Yurdu University and Ankara University signed an academic cooperation protocol.
